Description
Meredia (Sibutramine hydrochloride monohydrate) is a white to cream crystalline powder. Each Meredia capsule contains 5 mg, 10 mg, and 15 mg of Meredia hydrochloride monohydrate. Meridia is used together with diet and exercise to treat obesity that may be related to diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure. Meredia is best for quick weight loss.

Drug Uses: Meridia (Sibutramine) is prescribed in the treatment of patients with high index of body weight, obesity. It is not recommended to use the drug during the initial stage of the obesity because of the risk of side effects. This medicine is necessary in cases when the excessive weight menaces the patient health. Way of use and dosage : – Meridia (Sibutramine) is available in tabs for peroral application (administration). – The drug should be used once a day, in the morning, before breakfast, with a full glass of water. It is very important to follow the dosage regimen and not miss any dose within the entire treatment. – The daily dose of Meridia (Sibutramine) is 15 mg. – The use of the higher doses does not guarantee the improvement of the therapy results but it may cause unwanted side effects. – The length of the treatment depends on the speed of the weight loss and body sensitivity to the drug but it must not exceed 3 months. If the prolonged therapy of the obesity is necessary, you should take a break for 2-4 weeks after 3-month-treatment; then it is allowed to begin the second course repeating previous dosage
Side Effects

blood pressure gets too high, your doctor will take you off the medicine.
Sibutramine Capsules and Alcohol
It is best not to drink alcohol during your weight loss programme with
Sibutramine Capsules. Alcoholic drinks (such as beer, cider, wine or spirits are
a very common cause of weight gain. So drinking will make it harder to reach
your target.
Driving and Using Machines
Sibutramine Capsules may affect your judgement, thinking or handling skills. If
you find this, do not drive or use any tools or machines.

Sibutramine Capsules is a medicine to help you loose weight. It works by making you feel satisfied with less food. It helps control how much you eat. You should still get hungry but feel full with less food than before. By eating less, it should be easier for you to loose weight even if you haven’t been able to before. Sibutramine Capsules are only part of the story. Loosing weight means changing habits, and changing them for good. Your doctor and the doctor’s team are there to help and will give you regular check-ups. BEFORE YOU TAKE YOUR MEDICINE: You should NOT take Sibutramine Capsules if one or more of these points applies to you and you haven’t talked it through with your doctor, talk to your doctor before you start taking Sibutramine Capsules: •
Instruction
If you are allergic to sibutramine or to any of the other ingredients • If you have high blood pressure (more than 145/90), or a history of heart problems, hardening of the arteries or of strokes. • If you have liver or kidney problems or if you have problems with your prostrate or thyroid or growths on the adrenal glands (phaeochromocytoma) • If you are pregnant, might become pregnant or you are breast feeding. • If you are over 65, or under 18 • If you have ever had anorexia or bulimia • If you have a psychiatric illness, or have taken other medicines in the last fortnight to treat depression or psychiatric illness. • If you have taken tryptophan for disturbed sleep, or phentermine or diethylpropion (amfepramone) for weight reduction in the last fortnight. • If you have the eye disease, ‘narrow angle glaucoma’ (increased pressure in the eye). Ask your doctor or optician if you think you have glaucoma, but are not sure which type (see also “Take special care”). • If you have a history of drug or alcohol problems
