Restoril 30mg is in a group of drugs called benzodiazepines.Benzodiazepines belong to the group of medicines called central nervous system (CNS) depressants. Temazepam affects chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause sleep problems (insomnia).
Restoril 30mg is approved for the short term (usually 7 to 10 days only ) treatment of insomnia symptoms , such as trouble falling or staying asleep. In addition,temazepam has anxiolytic (anti anxiety),anticonvulsant, and skeletal muscle relaxant properties.
Restoril™ (temazepam) is a benzodiazepine hypnotic agent. The chemical name is 7-chloro-1,3-dihydro-3-hydroxy-1-methyl-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one, and the structural formula is:
